  • ½ cup melted salted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 6 ounces cream cheese

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy.
  2. Add eggs, melted butter, and granulated sugar; mix until combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate salt and about 4 cups of flour until just mixed; let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough on medium speed for 5–7 minutes until elastic, adding more flour if needed.
  5. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread with apple butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly from one edge, slice into twelve pieces, place in a greased pan, cover, and let rise (20 minutes).
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F; pour warm cream over rolls before baking for moistness.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before frosting.
