  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté diced green bell pepper and onion until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into a loaf pan.
  5. Layer with 4 slices of provolone cheese and sautéed veggies.
  6. Top with remaining meat mixture and seal the edges.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes; add remaining cheese on top during the last 5 minutes.
  8. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and garnish with parsley.
