  • 2 Large Eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Light or Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 Large Egg (slightly whisked)
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1 tbsp Sea Salt Flakes (sprinkled on before baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF and prepare an 8-inch square baking pan with flour-based spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and espresso powder.
  3. In another bowl, mix butter, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until creamy.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  5. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Prepare the pecan topping by heating sugars, corn syrup, egg, butter, and vanilla in a saucepan until smooth; stir in chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the pecan mixture over the baked brownies and sprinkle with sea salt flakes; return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
